Description
Pistia stratiotes, also known as water lettuce, dwarf water lettuce, and topapana, are floating plants that can stay small or grow to quite a large size.
It is a misconception that dwarf water lettuce is different than the larger variety. Under bright lighting and high nutrient conditions, these can grow up to about 6 inches in diameter per plant! We offer our water lettuce for sale in the smaller dwarf size as it gives you many more plants in one portion.
These floaters will thrive in open top, slow moving, and evenly lit aquariums. If you have a pond outside, they can do very well with bright sunlight. It is the algae fighting superplant!
